Cesme encompasses the town and marina area of Cesme, the sandy beaches of Ilica and the gorgeous Greek town of Alacati. Alacati is a picture perfect town that was inhabited by the Greeks. Wander the cobble stoned streets filled with cafes, bars and boutiques in this upmarket town. The Saturday farmers market is popular with its stalls of fruit, vegetables and organic textiles. The outlying beaches of Alacati are a firm favourite with windsurfers and kitesurfers alike. Ilica has a long sandy beach and is very safe for children. Cesme town has a large castle perched over the town with views over the marina and across the sea to the Greek island of Chios. Izmir is about an hours drive from Cesme peninsula.
